In just over two years, Leadership Formation Partners has begun the journey of providing ministry formation in Catholic health care with participants from coast to coast. We are honored to be working with eight system partners in various phases of our foundational formation program, Mission: Day by Day. Our growth is happening two ways: we are expanding with our current partners and engaging new partners in new locations.
Each time we begin new cohorts of Mission: Day by Day, we see the energy and the commitment of participants ready to lead the healing ministry into the future. Evaluations reveal high satisfaction with the program. An exciting statistic: 90% of participants report that they are sharing something they’re learning from formation. Over the life of nine sessions of Mission: Day by Day, we will further observe the significant impact this program is making upon each organization and its wider community.
We are delighted with the continued learning and improvement taking place among those who implement Mission: Day by Day on the local level. In spirited dialogue, skilled facilitators find creative solutions and new strategies for engagement of participants, both in-person and in online communication. We have leading practices emerging in facilitation and now have important insights to share from experience with our innovative model.
After careful discernment, and with input from our participants and partners, we will now offer the Mission: Day by Day program in a 26-month format, to include the same components from the original three-year design. Systems who choose this accelerated schedule will experience shorter down-time between sessions. Although this places higher demands upon local facilitators, it will help the momentum of the program for participants. We will carefully observe how this shift impacts the program and participants.
Busy Days Ahead
Leadership Formation Partners has a busy summer ahead. In the beginning of June we visit Orlando for the Catholic Health Association Assembly, exhibiting and proudly sponsoring as a Friend of the Assembly. You can find our festive table, with its bright green skirt, in the Exhibit Hall. As usual, we have some great formation give-away resources to share. Also, we will host a 15-minute CHA Learning Lab: Tilling the Soil: Preparing the Organization for Ministry Formation, on Sunday, June 5th, at 11:00 PM. For those of you unable to attend the conference, you may still wish to get a copy of Creating Reflections for the Workplace or Preparing the Organization for Formation. Send us an email to request either of these resources.
In August, we travel to Atlanta to join the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) for their yearly assembly. It is our first time exhibiting with this inspiring group of women and we are excited to be with them for their annual meeting. While there we plan to unveil a new formation product for Sponsors. Stay tuned!
