In this joyful season we wish to share some updates on what’s happening in our ministry. We are delighted to be working with eight different health systems, supporting their formation efforts in a variety of ways. For some organizations, Mission: Day by Day—our acclaimed two-year, nine-session program—serves as their foundational formation program; for others MDBD supplements their existing programs. Most of those with whom we work have continued to add additional cohorts as initial cohorts were so well received.
We have always believed in our unique program design. We know now with absolute certainty that we have an effective and impactful formation program in Mission: Day by Day. The program is increasing skills to integrate mission and values, ultimately building God’s dream in our organizations. The feedback is tremendous from participants and sponsors.
Filling a Need
System and sponsorship leaders share how Mission: Day by Day is making an impact in their organizations:
Mission: Day by Day has filled a direct need in our formation strategies. The cohort based model has helped us build community and a stronger sense of purpose by using an innovative format and rich sources of inspiration. Mission: Day by Day has enriched our culture by connecting our participants to their role in carrying on the living heritage of Catholic healthcare.
— Rosanne Ponzetti, System Vice President Mission Services at PeaceHealth
Mission: Day by Day meets participants where they are, as an instrument of grace in taking them so much further and deeper, with a ripple effect throughout the entire ministry. The impact on participants at Agnesian HealthCare has been both formative and transformative. Participants are more self-aware, recognize the sacred in the ordinary more readily, realize the need for reflection, and have taken in the reality they are entrusted with continuing the mission of Jesus and the congregation into the future.
— Sr Mary Noel Brown, CSA, Executive Leader of Sponsorship, Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes
Another blessing is our collaboration with local facilitators. We continue to be inspired by their commitment to the program and to their formation participants. It is wonderful to be part of building formation facilitation confidence and competence within each system. We know this adds value for those we serve.
New on the Horizon
It is hard to believe we began this adventure three years ago! In January, we stepped away to reflect on what has happened during this time, to review the strategic plan and direction for the ministry, and to discern future programming in response to the signs of the times. We are in dialogue with new hospitals and systems who will benefit from excellent, substantive formation. In response to requests, we are adding additional programs to begin in 2018, including a program for spirituality in the workplace, and an ongoing formation program for sponsors in organizational ethics. Our affordable and easy to implement cohort-based programs, provided in one, two and three six-week sessions, will add value to existing formation programming.
We share your passion for sustaining the ministry. We know we can support and extend your current formation efforts with our programs. We’d love to hear from you. Send an email or give us a call.
May your ministries be filled with Easter joy!
