Leadership Formation Partners’ debut occurred in Chicago in late June at the Catholic Health Assembly. The results of our presence there excited us. Our booth was located just inside the door of the Exhibit Hall. Many friends stopped by to support our new ministry and we met lots of new people. Bridget and I were able to tell the story of Mission: Day by Day® to different people and the interest was overwhelming.

Many people said to us,
You are on to something – you’re on the right path.”
As a result we are following up with a number of contacts. Additional inquiries are coming through the website. Exciting!
What We Learned
We learned a great deal from our conversations during and after the conference. There is a lot of rich formation going on in a lot of systems – including beginning programs and ongoing programs. As well there are a number of places where programs and resources are less accessible, as confirmed in the CHA studies published in Health Progress early this summer (see the report on the CARA study of formation effectiveness). Resources are tight, yet most systems recognize the fruits of formation and are seeking new ways to bring formation deeper and wider into their organizations.
Our Formation Solution
We are coming to discover how a blended model for formation – a model that relies on the judicious use of technology mixed with in-person connection – can be a formation solution for many systems. In this way Mission: Day by Day® complements and supports the formation efforts and impacts organizational culture.
Through careful facilitation each cohort will focus on the mission and values, sponsors, history, operations and strategy conversations distinctive to their own organizations. Participants’ action learning and reflection will be occur their own communities. Small formation communities – imperative for the work of formation – will be built among the participants as conversations deepen in their ministry. Conversations will integrate mission and values more fully as a significant number of people from each ministry participate in ministry leadership formation together.
You Inspire Us
Leadership Formation Partners is in conversation with a number of systems and hospitals, large and small. The CHA conference was a really great place to launch our company and share ideas. Thank you to our many friends who were at the booth, showing enthusiasm for our work. Your friendship and support were inspirational! God bless all those working in ministry leadership formation and those engaged in it.
We are the healing ministry of Jesus today.
