Beth McPherson has spent her career bringing people together to discern a deeper understanding and connection with their organization’s mission.
Passionate about developing leaders for the future of the ministry and pioneering new ways to bring ministry formation to Catholic healthcare, Beth is a dedicated and proven mission leader with more than three decades of experience in developing people and structures for the future of the Catholic health ministry.
Beth has long been a nationally known leader in developing successful programs that integrate mission and ministry. At St. Joseph Health System, she created and directed a nationally recognized leadership formation program, Mission & Mentoring, that has engaged nearly 2,000 leaders, physicians, and trustees in a fuller understanding of the St. Joseph mission and vision. The program has increased leadership knowledge and experience of history and heritage, spirituality, integration of body, mind and spirit, ministry, ethics, mission integration, theological underpinnings, and Catholic Social Teachings, and has successfully identified future system leaders.
Throughout her career Beth has created and implemented programs that integrate mission, vision, and values to enhance organizational effectiveness. These include a conversation-based self-assessment of the mission integration function at local ministries; integration of mission and values and Catholic Social Teachings with the Gallup Q12 Engagement Survey and Gallup Great Manager Program; organizational programs that assure fidelity to the mission; and processes to assure the integration of mission and values during the formation of new business units.
A certified coach, Beth has also worked with a wide variety of executives, directors, and future leaders to promote and develop long-term exceptional performance and greater capacity for ministry leadership.
